There wasn’t a single moment that changed everything. No big revelation. No perfectly timed opportunity. Just a feeling — a deep, unshakable knowing that I couldn’t keep living the way I had been.
For years, I felt stuck. Carrying not just physical weight, but emotional weight — doubt, fear, and limiting beliefs that convinced me my chance had passed. I had built a life that, on the surface, looked fine. A successful career. A life that made sense on paper.
But inside? I felt like I was disappearing. Like I was playing a role in a life that wasn’t truly mine.
I kept a mental list of all the things I wanted to do someday. But as the years passed, someday felt further and further away. I told myself I’d get to it when the timing was right — when I had more time, more energy, more clarity.
And then one day, I made a choice — to stop waiting and start living.
I didn’t wake up with a master plan or a clear roadmap. I just took one step forward.
And then another.
And another.
I started working through that list — the one I had convinced myself would always be out of reach.
- I decluttered my life — physically, emotionally, and mentally — letting go of what no longer served me.
- I prioritized my well-being — not just losing 75 pounds, but learning how to truly take care of myself.
- I built a wellness business — not because I had it all figured out, but because people kept asking how I made these changes, and I realized I had something to give.
At first, I was just trying to find myself again. But somewhere along the way, I found my purpose.
That journey inspired my first children’s book, Poof’s Magical Forest Adventure — a heartwarming story about a little bird who sets out to discover where he belongs and what makes him special. In many ways, Poof’s story mirrored my own: after years of living a life that didn't feel like my own, I went on a journey to find out where I truly belong. To trust my path. To believe I was meant for more.
Looking back, I realize that my transformation didn’t come from one big, life-changing moment. It came from the small, daily choices — the decision to keep going, even when I wasn’t sure where it would lead. Growth wasn’t linear, and the path wasn’t always clear — but every step forward was proof that I wasn’t stuck anymore.
And as I changed, people noticed. They could see something was different — like a weight had lifted, like I was finally stepping into who I was meant to be. And they’d ask, What changed? What did you do?
The truth? I didn’t wait for the perfect moment. I didn’t wait until I had all the answers.
I just started.
And with every small step, I proved to myself that change wasn’t some far-off dream — it was happening, little by little, in real time. The more I moved forward, the more I realized transformation doesn’t come from certainty — it comes from trust. Trusting yourself enough to take the first step, even when the path is unclear.
Here’s what I’ve learned along the way:
- You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going to take the first step. Clarity comes because of movement, not before it.
- Fear doesn’t mean stop — it means go. Every big change feels scary. Do it anyway.
- Small, consistent actions matter more than grand gestures. I didn’t transform my life overnight. It happened one intentional choice at a time.
- You are not stuck — you’re just standing still. And the second you take action, you’re no longer in the same place.
- Joy isn’t something you find — it’s something you create. And it starts with choosing yourself, every single day.
